I went here and got the chicken and waffles with coleslaw. The chicken was amazing and so was the coleslaw, however the waffles were a little dry. Service was great and attentive. The ambiance was amazing and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back

Stopped in for a business lunch. Service was quick and our waitress was friendly. The ambiance was good not too many folks there but was a nice environment. I had the fried chicken, which came out hot and delicious. Definitely worth the time and effort to stop in for the chicken. I also had the hot bacon slaw which was good and green beans, which were just ok. Will definitely be back when in the area.

Chicken is NOT overrated. Excellent all around. Tasty, crispy, and hot. Sides are plentiful and homemade. Servers are excellent.

The Ron's Roost is casual with a sports bar vibe. We came on a Sunday and the place was pretty packed. We were seated right away. The current basketball and football games were playing on the multiple t.V We ordered the hot slaw. I really didn't like it It was basically a small bowl full of raw cabbage and an acidic, watery, vinegar at the bottom with bacon bits on top. At least the bacon bits were was real, cooked bacon. It was a watery, acidic, mess. Yuck! We also ordered the Bourbon Angus Burger. You could get it with. Onion straws or onion rings. I got mine wet onion rings. I took the onion rings off and ate them separately. They were crispy and delicious. That burger... wow! Juicy, quality beef with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and crispy pickles! Yummy I'd come back just for that burger! We didn't get our complementary rolls though. We didn't know we were supposed to get them until we saw a few other folks with them. By the time we figured it out, we had already eaten. :-( Our server was Isabella was very sweet and provided honest recommendations! It was an overall good experience:-)

Best fried chicken ever! We drove from Glendale just for the chicken to go! Worth the drive. We had baked potatoes and regular coleslaw and both were good. I don't like their mashed potatoes ( I don't remember if it's the potatoes or gravy but not homemade.) their hot bacon slaw is yummy but just not in the mood.

I've been here many times but never wrote a review. Their fried chicken is the best as it's been a west side staple for 64 years. This time I got the burger and my wife got the goetta grilled cheese sandwich. The burger was okay and the tartar sauce was just that, nothing special about it. It was a hand made burger not a premade patty. I don't recall ever getting the burger there, mostly the chicken or their German meals. The wife thought the goetta grilled cheese sandwich was dry and I had a bit and it was. It needed something else as it was plain. Service was good as the waitress was a multitasker and kept up on the refills.

We have ordered delivery from Ron's Roost many times. The chicken and Saratoga Chips are fantastic! The do a good delivery business. Our in-person visit was our first. We met with a group of friends. The restaurant is comfortable. Our waitress was great. Mark and I both ordered something different. I started with hot bacon slaw which was fantastic as usual. I ordered the lunch sauerbraten. The taste caught me off guard because it was definitely 'sauer'. After a few bites the flavor settled in. The meat was tender and each bite was quite good. Regarding the potato pancake, it was smaller than you know who's, but I vouch for the flavor! It was the better potato pancake! Mark ordered the Swiss Mushroom Burger. He thought it was okay. We had Saratoga Chips delivered back in the day. We didn't have any during lunch, but they are top notch! Overall.. good food and great service.

Ron's took a second to grow on me. It's solid, good-quality, chicken. It feels old-fashioned compared to other chicken joints. It's not about a million hot sauces or 64 herbs and spices. It's simple, and complete. It's a chicken dinner, not sports bar chicken. There's no bells or whistles unless you want it added. The breading is surprisingly crunchy and devoid of any burnt flour taste. Prices are fair for the amount of food they give you. There is quite a wait between ordering and food coming out - as I understand it, chicken is fried to order, not kept on a hot plate. It's interior is evocative of an early 2000's restaurant. with a surprisingly large amount of open space. It's nice and not cramped, even when crowded. But it's not all perfect, as classic as Ron's recipe is, the dredge they use to bread the chicken with could use a touch more spice: some salinity, onion powder, and pepper would go a long way. Ron's has been around for 64 years now. I hope it'll be around for another 60.

A Cincinnati staple, Ron's Roost has been in business for almost 65 years! Located in Cheviot, not far off of I-74, they have a really nice bar area and larger dining area. Came here for their famous fried chicken and it didn't disappoint! Beautiful crispy crust and the chicken comes right off the bone. Told the man who I assume was the owner that it was our first time there and he brought us a free plate of saratoga chips and warm barbecue sauce to dip them in. So many good options on the menu but it would be hard not to order the chicken again! We are already thinking about when we can go back!

Good friend brought me here. It was a family favorite for him, and he shared memories of that. It was full, so we sat at the bar and ordered the Fried Chicken which is what they're known for. Looking around pretty much everyone did. It was good...just like home cooking. Servers friendly, and cost was easy on the wallet. Ambiance was old fashioned, reminded me of places I went with my family as a child. It was an enjoyable evening.
